Aga Khan Foundation Communications Consultant - Videographer SCCFI Jobs in Kenya; AKF communications rely on narrative and visual content to illustrate our work. This content is collected by external professionals and AKF staff, and is used to communicate with internal and external audiences.

People are at the centre of these narratives. Communications are anchored in individuals and communities who take part in or benefit from programming – their challenges, triumphs, and motivations.

Scope of Work

Demonstrate a client‑oriented approach, tact, and ability to work with people of different cultural backgrounds.

Ensure effective and efficient provision of services, confidentiality, management of information flow, and follow‑up on deadlines.

Ensure dignity of subjects, particularly children and vulnerable groups.

Label all footage with time, date, and location, and capture subjects’ names, location, and job title (or age for children). Provide separately as a Word document.

Align all work to AKF’s global safeguarding policy.

Ensure informed consent forms are signed by parents, teachers, and subjects, and submit these with images.

Work closely with AKF Communication Officer and programme staff team on the ground.

Deliverables
Overall storyline: Community Foundations along Kenya’s Swahili Coast are transforming development by shifting power to local people, enabling communities to mobilise resources, build partnerships, and shape sustainable, inclusive futures.

Video Series (4 short‑form films, 5–7 minutes each):

Episode 1: Partnership and public accountability – Ribe Community Initiative and Kilifi County Government water project.

Episode 2: Rise of community capital –

Jomvu Self‑Help Group moving from savings to structured lending.

Episode 3: Financial control as leverage – Amidzi, Rome ra Guro, and Changamwe demonstrating financial legitimacy and influence.

Episode 4: Institutional resilience – Lamu Central Initiative Group, LECODI, and Lamu Anchor of Hope sustaining community commitment.

Final Deliverables:

Final edited films (5–7 minutes each).

Subtitled versions (English and Swahili).

Short teaser clips (30–60 seconds) for digital promotion.

Still frames and soundbites for cross‑media use.

All videos filmed and edited per AKF guidelines, with copyright credited as AKF Country/Year/Videographer.

Footage must demonstrate optimism, energy, inclusivity, and enthusiasm, avoiding negative imagery.

Timelines

Introduction meeting – August 2026.

Submission of story concepts – August 2026.

Community foundations impact stories – August–September 2026.

Submission of final edits and raw footage – September 2026.

Contract Duration

1st August 2026 – 30th September 2026.

Qualifications Required

Videographer/Production team with at least 5 years’ professional experience in photography and video creation.

Experience editing videos/photos for humanitarian settings.

Bilingual skills (English/Kiswahili) preferred.

Experience working with media agencies, international organisations, NGOs an asset.

Availability and willingness to travel to villages in selected project sites.

Procedures and Logistics

AKF team will monitor progress through regular check‑in calls.

Consultant will work independently from private space.

Consultant will use own equipment.

Consultant will submit final report electronically.
