The networks of Academies through the Aga Khan Academy Mombasa seek to recruit ideal candidates for the following position that will be based in Kenya.

  • The Resource Development and Financial Strategy Director

    Job Summary:

    This critical role is to develop, promote, prioritizes and maintain partnerships to achieve the Academies resource development goals with external organizations, governments, foundations, corporations, individuals and income generation activities in Africa.

    Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible and accountable for the Resource Development department for the Aga Khan Academies in Mombasa and Maputo including other planned Academies in the region.
  • In close collaboration with the Academies team, develop a multi-year plan to lead local fundraising activities for the Academy and implement the Annual Giving programme.
  • Work closely with local AKES and AKF, National Councils and the Academies Unit to establish support functions to ensure transparency, accountability and compliance of donor resources.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the Academies Unit resource mobilization and income generation activities and
    plans in the region.
  • The Director is expected to deliver an annual target or up to 10% of the Academies annual budget through its activities and campaign.
  • Develop the mid to large corporate sector as a constituency inclusive of AKFED agencies.

    Qualifications & Experience
  • At least ten years’ experience, Bachelor’s degree in a business related field and relevant experience in resource development is mandatory.
  • Demonstrable record of accomplishment of strategic fundraising at management level in a comparable International organization.
  • Proven ability to build, manage and develop key stakeholder, client and donor relationships.
  • Experience of developing and implementing strategic and business plans.
