African Institute for Development Policy Project Manager Jobs in Kenya


African Institute for Development Policy Project Manager Jobs in Kenya;We are seeking an experienced Research and Policy professional to serve as Project Manager for AFIDEP’s three‑year initiative on Inclusive Economic Integration for Migrant and Displaced African Youth. The postholder will coordinate technical implementation, deliver applied research, supervise outputs, support policy engagement and ensure timely achievement of project milestones.

Responsibilities

Applied Research Delivery

  • Coordinate development of research protocols, tools and frameworks.

  • Lead or support mixed‑methods data collection and analysis.

  • Supervise fieldwork preparation, training and quality checks.

  • Ensure compliance with ethics and safeguarding procedures.

  • Draft technical reports, country analyses and manuscripts.

    Project Implementation

  • Coordinate day‑to‑day implementation of project workplan.

  • Develop activity plans, trackers and inputs for budgets.

  • Coordinate staff, partners, consultants and collaborators.

  • Monitor risks and escalate issues to leadership.

  • Organise project and partner meetings.

    Policy Engagement & Evidence Uptake

  • Implement policy engagement and evidence uptake strategy.

  • Develop stakeholder maps, briefs and presentations.

  • Coordinate consultations, workshops and dialogues.

  • Maintain stakeholder relationships and track evidence use.

    Monitoring, Learning & Reporting

  • Maintain monitoring data and routine reporting.

  • Develop donor narrative reports.

  • Support learning reviews and adaptive management.

  • Document lessons, challenges and corrective actions.

    Knowledge Products & Communications

  • Develop briefs, summaries and practice notes.

  • Package findings for
    policy and public audiences.

  • Present project work at technical meetings and conferences.

  • Support publication planning and dissemination.

    Requirements

    Education

  • PhD in relevant social science discipline.

    Experience

  • Minimum 5 years post‑PhD in applied research or policy projects.

  • Experience coordinating multi‑partner or multi‑country initiatives.

  • Evidence‑to‑policy translation experience.

  • Record of peer‑reviewed publications or policy products.

    Skills & Competencies

  • Strong applied research and analytical skills.

  • Effective project coordination and planning.

  • Excellent communication and policy writing skills.

  • Strong facilitation and stakeholder management.

  • Ability to work collaboratively across multicultural teams.

  • Sound judgement and attention to detail.

  • Understanding of research ethics and data protection.

  • Proficiency with research and project‑management tools.
