Our Client, Kenya's newest printing business is the first of its kind having been formed through a merger of several well-established leading printing companies. Once launched, the Company will offer clients - both existing and new - a full-range of off-set, digital, large format printing as well as branded promotional items. They are seeking to recruit a Chief Finance Officer.

The Chief Finance Officer reports to the Chief Executive Officer. You will ensure the implementation of sound financial management policies, practices and manage financial resources in a manner that ensures optimal liquidity levels at minimal financing costs. This role is expected to look after the financial health of the company, providing information that supports strategic decisions.

Responsibilities

Contribute to the development of the company's strategic plan, ensuring alignment between long term financial management strategies and the company’s overall performance goals

Develop financial strategies by forecasting capital, facilities, and staff requirements; identifying monetary resources; developing action plans to ensure that the company has sufficient financial resources to meet operating requirements at all time

Lead the implementation of the finance management strategies by contributing financial and accounting information, analysis, and recommendations to strategic thinking and direction and establishing functional objectives that are in line with organizational objectives

Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the organization's fiscal function and performance and report to the Directors as appropriate

Lead the development of the annual budget managing the preparation and reporting of annual and quarterly budgets and forecasting

Monitor financial performance by measuring and analyzing results against the budget; initiating corrective actions; minimizing the impact of variances

Develop financial controls and lead the implementation of appropriate internal controls framework in support of efficient business operation. Work to ensure compliance with all financial statutory reporting and tax laws requirements

Direct the treasury functions ensuring the availability of affordable funds to run the company operations

Manage financial reporting by ensure the timely and accurate analysis and reporting of budgets, financial reports and financial trends in order to assist the Board, the Chief

Executive Officer and Directors in performing their responsibilities

Foster a culture of ethical behavior in the Finance Department, promote compliance with the Company’s Code of Business Conduct and proactively ensure that the Company complies with all of its legal and statutory obligations

Implement, monitor and facilitate performance management programs and support departmental staff through training, mentor-ship and coaching

Requirements

Bachelors degree preferably in business or related field

Professional accounting qualification – CPA/ACCA; Member of a professional finance body; and

Leadership/management training

At least ten (10) years of experience, five (5) of which must be in a leadership position

Hands on experience in financial planning, strategy development, financial forecasting, corporate finance and directing organizational budgets with excellent financial management skills

A strategic and innovative thinker who can develop and articulate a clear understanding of the organization’s strategy from all perspectives to manage profitability and find creative solutions addressing financial problems

Highest level of personal and professional integrity
