Adept Systems Accountant Credit Controller Jobs in Kenya



Our Client, Kenya's newest printing business is the first of its kind having been formed through a merger of several well-established leading printing companies. Once launched, the Company will offer clients - both existing and new - a full-range of off-set, digital, large format printing as well as branded promotional items. They are seeking to recruit a Credit Controller.


The Credit Controller reports to the Finance Manager and is responsible for consistent implementation and review of the collection strategy and credit control policies and procedures of the Company. He/She will ensure debts are settled by customers and collections done in a timely manner


Responsibilities


  • Develop and present the draft credit policy for review and approval by the senior management and lead in its implementation upon approval.
  • Address customer disputes and queries in a timely manner and report and escalate clients outstanding issues and challenges that may require management intervention
  • Reconcile complex accounts and follow up on invoices to ensure timely collection and achievement of targeted DSOs
  • Handle disputed bills and negotiate to bring payment within the agreed terms
  • Maintain up to date records of creditors and debtors and oversee the compilation of the list of defaulters for follow up to provide demand notices
  • Provide accurate advice on billing queries and on suspension or termination of clients not
    settling their debts as per the credit policy
  • Manage relations with external debt collectors and the lawyers and turn terminated accounts over to the external debt collector or to a lawyer as advised
  • Manage the credit control reporting by ensuring timely and accurate receivables and collections reporting
  • Generate reports for management as required.


    Requirements


  • Bachelors degree preferably in business or related field;
  • Relevant professional qualification (CPA / ACCA or an equivalent)
  • Minimum five (5) years experience in credit control and debt management;
  • Good knowledge of computerized accounting systems and conversant with accounting reporting standards, credit and debt management and Kenyan laws
  • Demonstrate a high degree of sensitivity, confidentiality when dealing with internal and external customers
  • Good analytical ability and numerical skills;
