Action Aid Human Resources and Organizational Development Officer Jobs in Kenya;Provides operational and administrative support to the Human Resources and Organizational Development function at AAIK. Supports implementation of HR policies, procedures and people processes across the employee lifecycle, maintaining accurate records and HRIS entries, and delivering timely HR services to staff and management.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • None; may coordinate activities with staff, service providers and stakeholders as delegated by HROD Manager.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    Human Resources & Organizational Development

  • Support employee lifecycle processes including recruitment, induction, pay/benefits, performance management, wellbeing, retention and separation.

  • Maintain accurate and confidential personnel records, HR files and HRIS entries.

  • Support recruitment processes (vacancy documentation, interviews, reference checks, onboarding).

  • Administer probation, confirmation, contract renewals, transfers and other lifecycle processes.

  • Support annual performance management cycle (communication, documentation, tracking).

  • Coordinate staff learning and development initiatives.

  • Provide HR inputs for payroll and administer employee benefits/welfare schemes.

  • Respond to routine HR requests and escalate complex matters.

  • Support HR compliance activities, audits and reviews.

  • Assist HR/OD projects, staff engagement, surveys and workshops.

  • Coordinate communication with HR service providers (insurance, medical, payroll).

  • Maintain confidentiality and report suspected breaches of HR policy or law.

    Other Duties

  • Organize and coordinate staff/organizational activities as assigned.

  • Undertake other
    HR/OD tasks delegated by HROD Manager.

    Required Skills & Abilities

  • Strong understanding of HR principles and procedures.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.

  • Service orientation, integrity and professional conduct.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in multicultural environments.

    Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in HRM, Business Administration, Organizational Development, Social Sciences or related field.

  • At least 3 years’ HR experience in NGO/INGO or similar environment.

  • Membership of IHRM or relevant HR body desirable.

  • Experience using HRIS or digital employee‑records system an advantage.

  • Accountable for accuracy, confidentiality, timeliness and quality of HR administration.
