ACTED Senior Finance Officer Jobs in Kenya;Provide temporary maternity cover for the Senior Finance Officer in ACTED’s Kenya mission. Support effective management of financial and accounting processes, ensuring transactions are processed accurately, timely and in compliance with ACTED procedures and requirements.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Management

  • Prepare and consolidate accounting entries for Nairobi office and field bases.

  • Review cash/bank book entries per ACTED procedures.

  • Ensure accurate coding and project allocations.

  • Support monthly/annual closures and reconciliations.

  • Prepare/follow up on advances, loans and balances.

    Payments & Cash Management

  • Coordinate and execute payments per ACTED procedures.

  • Review payment documentation for completeness.

  • Prepare weekly/monthly cash forecasts and requests.

  • Coordinate cash requirements with departments/field bases.

  • Ensure timely statutory payments.

    Financial Documentation & Compliance

  • Ensure vouchers/supporting documents are complete, approved, coded and filed.

  • Support filing/digitalisation of documentation.

  • Conduct checks and identify gaps.

  • Support Compliance team and auditors.

  • Ensure documentation available for audits/reviews.

    Financial Reporting & Cost Control

  • Support Finance Manager in preparing reports.

  • Monitor project expenditure and allocations.

  • Cross‑check allocations against budgets and POs.

  • Support CFU/DFU preparation and follow‑up.

  • Provide timely financial information to Finance Manager and project teams.

    Other Responsibilities

  • Support audits and
    provide documentation.

  • Coordinate with Finance, Logistics, Compliance, Programme and other departments.

  • Promote adherence to ACTED procedures, Code of Conduct and safeguarding policies.

  • Perform other finance‑related duties as assigned.

    Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field.

  • CPA/ACCA qualification or progress advantageous.

  • 5+ years’ finance/accounting experience (INGO/NGO preferred).

  • Strong accounting, payments, cash management and reporting experience.

  • Project financial management, budget monitoring and cost allocation experience.

  • Audit support and documentation review experience.

  • Supervisory experience with junior staff.

  • Knowledge of accounting principles, internal controls and Kenyan statutory requirements.

  • Strong MS Excel and MS Office skills; SAGA/ACTED systems advantageous.

  • Attention to detail, organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines.

  • Strong communication, interpersonal skills, integrity and professionalism.
