ACT Alliance Senior Programme Officer – Climate Justice Jobs in Kenya

ACT Alliance Senior Programme Officer – Climate Justice Jobs in Kenya;Lead implementation of ACT Alliance Africa consortium project Accelerating Adaptation Action Through Faith‑Led Advocacy in Africa. Coordinate climate forums, communities of practice, advocacy engagement in UN processes, and provide technical guidance, monitoring and reporting under the Climate Justice Programme Manager.

Responsibilities

Technical Guidance & Leadership

  • Support research and analysis of climate intersections with social, economic and humanitarian issues.

  • Coordinate regional climate policy and advocacy work, including briefs, position papers and campaigns.

  • Engage with UNFCCC and other international processes.

    Project Management

  • Oversee implementation of Accelerating Adaptation Action project.

  • Manage activities, communications, monitoring, reporting and budget.

  • Coordinate project partnerships and regional climate structures.

  • Establish work plans, standards and methodologies.

  • Monitor and evaluate project implementation and results.

    Knowledge & Capacity Building

  • Support ACT members and partners to build capacity for project delivery.

  • Develop and disseminate knowledge products on climate justice.

    Coordination & Relationships

  • Nurture regional and national relationships.

  • Collaborate with advocacy, programmes and communications teams.

  • Report to Global Climate Justice Programme Manager.

    Requirements

    Education

  • Advanced degree in climate/environment studies or related field.

    Experience

  • At least 5 years in project coordination, advocacy or campaigns.

  • Knowledge of UNFCCC and UN sustainable development/disaster risk reduction agendas.

  • Profound knowledge of climate adaptation, loss
    and damage, resilience and finance.

  • Experience engaging with regional processes and governments.

  • Experience working with the faith sector desirable.

    Skills & Abilities

  • Strong project management and organisational skills.

  • Experience in capacity‑building initiatives including climate finance.

  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities under pressure.

  • Excellent English communication skills • French an asset.

  • Ability to work flexibly in multicultural and multi‑locational settings.
