Accurex Leadership and Management Consultants Rolling Mill Operator Jobs in Kenya;Support and operate rolling mill machinery and equipment used in steel production.

Prepare the rolling mill for production, monitor the rolling process, ensure smooth material flow, identify abnormalities, and maintain production, quality, and safety standards.

Purpose of the Role

  • Support efficient and continuous rolling mill operations

  • Ensure steel materials are processed to specifications

  • Monitor rolling mill equipment and processes

  • Maintain consistent product quality and output

  • Identify and report faults, abnormalities, and hazards

  • Support achievement of daily production targets

  • Ensure compliance with safety, operational, and quality procedures

    Duties & Responsibilities

    Rolling Mill Operations

  • Operate and monitor rolling mill machinery per procedures

  • Assist with setup and preparation for production

  • Feed and guide steel materials through rolling process

  • Monitor material flow across production line

  • Maintain operating conditions during rolling

  • Follow supervisor’s instructions and parameters

  • Support smooth and continuous production

    Production Process Monitoring

  • Monitor operations and identify deviations

  • Observe equipment performance; report abnormalities

  • Maintain consistent production flow and output

  • Monitor product dimensions and appearance

  • Report delays, blockages, faults, or issues

  • Maintain accurate production records

    Quality Control & Product Handling

  • Ensure products meet specifications

  • Conduct visual checks of finished/semi‑finished products

  • Identify and report defects or irregularities

  • Handle, sort, stack, and move finished products

  • Work with quality control team to resolve issues

  • Minimize wastage and losses

    Safety & Compliance

  • Follow health, safety, and environmental procedures

  • Wear required PPE correctly

  • Maintain safe distances and access routes

  • Report accidents, hazards, and unsafe conditions

  • Participate in safety briefings and training

  • Follow emergency procedures

    Equipment Care & Housekeeping

  • Conduct routine checks of machinery and equipment

  • Report breakdowns, leaks, or abnormalities

  • Assist maintenance during inspections

  • Keep rolling mill area clean and organized

  • Handle and store tools properly

  • Support preventive maintenance activities

    Teamwork & Operational Support

  • Work with rolling mill operators, furnace/melt shop, maintenance, quality, and supervisors

  • Communicate issues and information during handovers

  • Follow instructions from supervisors and technical staff

  • Support other production activities as required

  • Maintain punctuality, discipline, and teamwork

    Qualifications

  • Minimum KCSE qualification or equivalent

  • Previous experience in steel manufacturing, rolling mill, metal processing, fabrication, foundry, or heavy industry an advantage

  • Technical training in mechanical, electrical, production, welding, or fabrication an advantage

  • Experience operating or working around industrial machinery an advantage

  • Ability to work in hot, noisy, and physically demanding environments

  • Physically fit and able to stand/work for extended periods
