Accurex Leadership and Management Consultants Production/Melt Shop Operators Jobs in Kenya;Support the safe and efficient operation of furnace and melt shop processes in molten metal production.
Prepare and handle raw materials, support furnace charging and melting operations, monitor production processes, maintain cleanliness and order, and follow established safety and quality procedures.
Purpose of the Role
Support safe and efficient furnace and melt shop operations
Ensure raw materials are properly prepared and handled
Assist in maintaining consistent production flow and efficiency
Monitor operating conditions and report abnormalities
Maintain cleanliness, order, and safe working conditions
Support production targets while maintaining quality and safety standards
Ensure compliance with operating procedures, health and safety requirements, and production guidelines
Duties & Responsibilities
Furnace & Melting Operations
Operate and support furnace equipment per procedures
Assist with furnace charging and feeding raw materials
Monitor furnace conditions and report unusual activity
Support melting operations for continuous production
Assist with tapping and transfer of molten metal
Follow prescribed operating parameters and instructions
Raw Material Handling & Preparation
Receive, sort, prepare, and handle raw materials
Ensure materials are correctly identified before charging
Handle scrap metal and other approved inputs
Report contaminated or unsuitable materials
Maintain proper organization of materials
Process Monitoring & Production Support
Monitor production activities and identify abnormalities
Record or communicate production information
Support teams in achieving daily output targets
Coordinate with melt shop personnel for smooth flow
Assist with routine checks and inspections
Escalate equipment faults, spills, or unsafe conditions
Safety & Compliance
Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures
Wear required PPE correctly
Maintain safe distances around molten metal and high‑temperature equipment
Participate in safety briefings and training
Report accidents, hazards, and unsafe practices immediately
Follow emergency response procedures
Housekeeping &
Equipment Care
Maintain cleanliness and order in melt shop areas
Assist with routine cleaning and basic maintenance
Handle and store tools properly
Report damaged or malfunctioning equipment
Teamwork & Operational Support
Work closely with furnace, casting, maintenance, quality, and production teams
Follow instructions from supervisors and technical personnel
Support shift handovers with relevant information
Assist other production activities as required
Maintain discipline, punctuality, and teamwork during shifts
Qualifications
Minimum KCSE qualification or equivalent
Previous experience in steel manufacturing, foundry, furnace, melt shop, or heavy industry an advantage
Technical training in mechanical, electrical, production, welding, or fabrication an advantage
Experience in shift‑based industrial production an advantage
Physically fit to work in hot, noisy, and demanding environments
Ability to follow safety procedures and operating instructions
Competencies
Basic understanding of industrial production processes
Knowledge of furnace and melting operations
Ability to follow operating procedures and instructions
Basic equipment inspection and operational awareness
Occupational health and safety awareness
Ability to identify and report abnormal conditions
Good housekeeping and workplace organization
Strong safety‑conscious mindset
Physical stamina for demanding conditions
Accountability and responsibility
Ability to remain alert and focused during operations
