Accurex Leadership and Management Consultants Ltd Table Saw Machine Operator Jobs in Kenya
Purpose of the Role
Produce accurate, clean and consistent cuts according to production specifications.
Meet assigned production targets while reducing material waste and rework.
Operate the table saw safely and maintain a clean, organized work area.
Identify quality issues and machine faults early to prevent production delays.
Support efficient workflow and timely completion of customer or internal orders.
Duties and Responsibilities
Machine Setup and Operation
Set up and operate table saws in line with job cards, cutting lists, drawings and supervisor instructions.
Select suitable blades and set cutting depth, fences, guides and angles as required for each job.
Verify machine alignment and safety features before commencing work.
Measure, mark, position and feed materials carefully to achieve accurate cuts.
Carry out test cuts and confirm dimensions before processing the full batch.
Quality Assurance and Measurement
Use tape measures, rulers, squares, calipers and other measuring tools to verify dimensions and angles.
Inspect cut edges for splintering, chipping, rough finishes and dimensional inaccuracies.
Identify and segregate defective pieces and communicate recurring defects to the supervisor.
Ensure products are labelled, stacked and transferred correctly to the next production stage.
Production and Material Utilization
Follow the daily production plan and complete assigned cutting jobs within agreed timelines.
Plan cuts according to approved cutting lists to maximize material yield and minimize offcuts.
Confirm material type, thickness and dimensions before cutting.
Record output, material consumption, rejected pieces and production interruptions as required.
Safety and Equipment Care
Use blade guards, push sticks, riving knives, extraction systems and other safety devices as required.
Wear designated personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow lockout/isolation
procedures when cleaning or changing blades, where applicable.
Never bypass safety guards or reach into the cutting area while the blade is moving.
Clean the machine and work area and perform routine operator checks as authorized.
Immediately report damaged blades, faulty guards, abnormal vibration or other unsafe conditions.
Coordination and Reporting
Coordinate with production, assembly, finishing and quality teams to maintain smooth workflow.
Notify the supervisor of material shortages, drawing discrepancies and delays.
Maintain accurate job records and follow approved procedures for handling offcuts and scrap.
Participate in safety briefings, training and process-improvement initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience
Certificate or vocational training in Carpentry and Joinery, Wood Technology, Mechanical/Production Technology or a related field is an advantage.
At least three (3) years of practical experience operating table saws or comparable cutting machinery in a production or workshop environment.
Ability to read cutting lists, interpret measurements and work accurately from job instructions.
Working knowledge of safe machine operation, blade selection and routine equipment care.
