Job Description
Accountability: Stakeholder Relationship
Establish and maintain a professional relationship with all stakeholders (Client, Bank personnel, product providers, and Adviser Support staff).
Participate in reciprocal leads activities and sales/pipeline meetings to identify opportunities for new or repeat business, fully utilising Absa’s bancassurance structure.
Assess client needs using recommended analysis tools, ensuring awareness of the full value proposition offered by AIFA.
Prepare recommendations and quotes for appropriate risk and investment solutions based on client profile.
Present recommendations to clients, ensuring FAIS regulations are followed.
Follow all steps in the designated client engagement process as specified by Absa Advisers.
Provide regular feedback to the Regional Manager on lead progression.
Network with stakeholders in Everyday Banking (PGMs and Regional Managers) by attending meetings and social gatherings to position Absa Advisers’ value proposition.
Accountability: Sales and Growth Targets
Plan activities by identifying clients to be approached during specific periods with Everyday Advice Executives.
Use leads information provided by sources and own prospecting activities to determine client financial needs.
Conduct comprehensive Financial Needs Analysis using Absa’s Avalon tool (from Aug 2024 onwards).
Obtain client consent to access existing policy information.
Discuss possible solutions and recommend appropriate products.
Generate and present formal recommendations including product quotes.
Complete product application forms and ensure client consent.
Gather and complete compliance documentation (Client Advice Record, ID copy, FNA, FICA).
Submit proposals to product providers for processing.
Ensure issued policies align with recommended products.
Review client portfolios annually and maintain contact strategy.
Report strike rates to Regional Manager and stakeholders.
Seek business opportunities externally to grow the book and reciprocate leads.
Accountability: Commission Management
Capture correct Policy Relevant Information (PRI) numbers on the Commission system.
Verify monthly commission statements against PRI numbers.
Keep client database updated with new clients.
Follow up on unpaid premiums and lapses.
Manage suspense accounts
by clearing them at month end.
Accountability: Practice Management
Ensure Adviser Assistants understand roles and responsibilities.
Arrange relevant training (systems, product, operational).
Provide coaching and mentoring to assistants.
Participate in performance development discussions.
Take corrective actions in cases of underperformance.
Implement compliant record‑keeping controls (FAIS, FICA, FSB).
Liaise with Provincial Operations Office for systems and equipment maintenance.
Complete compliance exams within specified timeframes (AML, Sanctions, BCM, Financial Crime).
Remain fit and proper as required for FAIS roles.
Provide monthly feedback to branch and Business Bank on non‑interest income and cross‑selling opportunities.
Segment client base by profile, income potential, and commission income.
Engage with business development strategies to maximise sustainability of adviser practice.
Accountability: Personal Development
Attend required training to attain accreditation for Absa products.
Complete internal FAIS‑related programs/courses.
Attain FAIS credits to achieve Fit and Proper status.
Maintain Fit and Proper status (honesty, integrity, financial solvency).
Education
Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Accounting.
National Senior Certificate / Matric (Grade 12).
