Absa Bank Limited Trade Finance Specialist Jobs in Kenya; The Trade Finance Specialist will assist in articulating, owning, and executing the Transaction Banking (TB) strategy for Business Banking in the commercial banking segment. The role involves managing senior‑level client interactions, leading sales, and delivering business objectives through the BB sales team. The Specialist will grow TB business annually across BB clients while ensuring sound risk management disciplines.

Key Accountabilities

Sales (50%)

Deliver TB revenues from Business Banking clients.

Develop and execute sales strategy to achieve revenue targets.

Increase client penetration through cross‑selling and replicating TB solutions.

Lead the team to achieve portfolio objectives using account planning and pipeline management.

Maintain detailed knowledge of bank products and apply them to client needs.

Drive alignment with TB teams, Business Banking, and operations.

Lead client insight events and industry forums to build brand awareness.

Service & Operational Rigor (30%)

Ensure delivery of world‑class customer service practices.

Support BB coverage teams in developing relationship account plans.

Achieve operational rigor excellence and ensure compliance.

Minimize fraudulent applications by adhering to product criteria.

Ensure pricing authorization and proper product/customer set‑up.

Follow TB end‑to‑end product set‑up process.

Ensure compliance with risk, health, and safety standards.

Team Support & Management (20%)

Set SMART objectives aligned with

team goals.

Review and drive team performance regularly.

Identify training needs and recommend training plans.

Role/Person Specification

Qualification

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent academic qualifications.

Postgraduate or equivalent academic qualifications.

Experience

Over 5 years’ experience in Business Banking (BB) or Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB).

Strong people and sales management skills.

Frontline transactional sales experience.

Willingness to be stationed outside Nairobi; relevant experience outside Nairobi an advantage.

Knowledge & Skills

Strong people and sales management skills in banking.

Proven transactional sales experience across Working Capital, Trade Finance (LCs, bonds, guarantees, risk products), Supply Chain Financing, and Cash Management.

Skills in analyzing and formatting financial data.

Treasury, credit, and country risk exposure.
