Absa Bank Limited Investment Dealer Jobs in Kenya;The Dealer bridges investment decisions and transaction settlement. The role involves monitoring and implementing tactical portfolio decisions, ensuring timely, accurate and competitive execution of investment instructions, and maintaining compliance with risk management guidelines. The Dealer also manages counterparty relationships to achieve better investment outcomes.

Key Accountabilities

Execution – 70%

  • Prepare dealing tickets and log into fund management system accurately.

  • Execute timely, accurate and competitive dealings with counterparties.

  • Ensure timely settlement of trades with custody and investment system.

  • Negotiate and close investment opportunities with counterparties.

  • Implement Investment Committee decisions in liaison with Investment Manager.

  • Document and record trades/deals per internal procedures.

    Liquidity Management – 10%

  • Recommend rebalancing actions based on market developments.

  • Monitor investment maturities/roll‑overs and inform managers/clients.

    Stakeholder Management – 10%

  • Build and sustain relationships with banks, brokers, custodians and market participants.

  • Organize review meetings with institutions to support decision‑making.

  • Coordinate meetings with potential investment issuers.

    Risk & Compliance – 10%

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Absa policies.

  • Manage risks and incidents relevant to the role.

  • Ensure compliance with service provider and counterparty SLAs.

    Other Duties

  • Support maintenance of research databases.

  • Coordinate Investment Committee activities.

  • Monitor and appraise counterparties.

    Preferred Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Commerce, Actuarial Science or related field.

  • Chartered Investment & Financial Analyst (CIFA) certification or actively pursuing.

  • Professional qualifications such as CFA, CPA, CISI, CAIA are an advantage.

    Preferred Experience

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Investment Dealing or related areas.

  • Experience with Investment Management and Research Systems.

    Knowledge & Skills

  • Knowledge of Kenya financial services industry and CMA/RBA guidelines.

  • Understanding of financial analysis, dealing practices, risk and governance frameworks.
