Absa Bank Full Stack Engineer Jobs in Kenya; Support high-performing, scalable, enterprise-grade application design & development in agile teams by producing, testing, documenting, and reviewing source code.

Duties & Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems using Scala, Spark, and Python

Build and optimize data pipelines and processing workflows

Integrate and manage AWS backend services (Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, ECR, ECS, etc.)

Collaborate with front-end developers and stakeholders to deliver full-stack solutions

Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to technical decision-making

Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code

Troubleshoot and debug applications across the stack

Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends

Job Requirements

Proficiency in Scala, Spark, and/or Python

Strong experience with AWS backend services

Solid understanding of backend development principles and best practices

Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, and serverless architectures

Ability to think conceptually and solve abstract problems

Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with front-end technologies (React, Angular, Vue.js)

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices

Knowledge of containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes)

Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform)

Education

Bachelor’s Degree: Information Technology
