Purpose of the Job

  • Generally, this position holder is responsible for the total organization of a garage, including the supervision and control of personnel.

  • Garage managers hire, train, promote and terminate the services of employees in cooperation with the different sub-managers in charge of the various departments of the garage

    Scope

  • Responsible for all Yehule & all sister entities fleets repair and maintenance related issues.

    Key Duties & Responsibilities

    Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Direct the activities of servicing/repair staff to ensure optimal productivity and efficiency.

  • Responsible to oversee the inspection of vehicles before and after repairs in order identify faulty components and ensure complete fixing.

  • Responsible for coordinating the activities of an auto shop repair department to ensure efficient operations.

  • Performs trouble shooting and diagnostics procedure on vehicles and equipment

  • Record observations and findings during diagnostics run and decide on the correct method of repair, as necessary

  • Plan and organize Preventive Maintenance System (PMS) and delegate specific tasks to concerned section/mechanics

  • keep and send weekly, monthly quarterly R&M cost for strategic decision and P&L Analysis

  • Forecast and order spare parts for specific jobs/special job or for stocks replenish

  • Follow up repair order, registering the time taken to complete

  • Conduct final check/test driving for all vehicles/truck

  • Keep maintenance logs and report on daily activities.

    Checks all repair works completeness performed on internal/external garage. This includes physical

  • inspections and road test before vehicle is turned back to user department for operation.

  • Performs preventive maintenance on all company vehicles.

  • Examine reports for accuracy on each vehicle and equipment repaired; writes report on vehicles and equipment repaired.

  • Provide on-the-job training as well as coaching and mentoring to mechanics and helpers. Prepare spare part master list for all fleets based on brands and continuous fine tuning
    so as for updated and quick references

  • Handle truck handover/takeover process whenever issuing trucks for driver

  • Lead and attend any company driver recruitment practical assessment

  • Keep detail master list of tyre registration for any changing undertook and send updated report on monthly basis

  • Other tasks as per guidance of line manages

    Job Requirements

    Requirements

  • Well-honed leadership and management skills; with an ability to motivate others.

  • Hands on ‘real-world’ mechanical experience and knowledge

  • Sound judgment informed by extensive practical knowledge and experience

  • Innovative, inventive and analytical, able to pre-empt and resolve problems with ease

  • Agile, responsive and good under pressure.

  • Heightened cultural awareness – able to relate and build relationships with all.

  • In-depth knowledge of vehicle diagnostic equipment and mechanical systems.

    Experience & Education

  • BA degree in mechanical engineering or related fields

  • 7 years of experience of which 3 of these with supervisory role in similar function

  • It is mandatory to have an experience of on maintenance inspector

  • Minimum of qualified Auto driving license
