  • Abacus Medical Appliances Ltd (Amal) provide a wide variety of health equipment products for the local market at affordable prices and are now operational in Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Kenya and are working towards expanding to the rest of Africa to become the leading distributor in Africa.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Promotes and sells company’s Medical Equipments, products and services including non-implantable medical equipment products and/or services (e.g., diagnostic medical equipment, medical imaging machines, medical laboratory equipment, and non-implantable medical devices) within an assigned geographic area and /or specific customer accounts to meet or exceed sales targets.

  • Responsible for developing, building, and strengthening long-term relationships with stakeholders including hospitals, physicians, and Radiology and Surgical personnel.

  • Responsible for pursuing leads, assessing needs and providing product services to maximize the benefits derived from AMAL’s Medical Equipment products and/or services.

  • Conducts and/or evaluates market research including customers and competitors activities.

  • Develops and/or implements market development plans/strategies and changes as needed.

  • Assesses customer needs and feedback regarding new products and/or modifications to existing products and communicates to internal stakeholders including Operations and Marketing.

  • Identify the local Market opportunities with in the country

  • Visit establishments to evaluate needs or to promote product or service sales.

  • Maintain customer records, using automated systems.

  • Answer customers’ questions about products, prices, availability, or credit terms.

  • Quote prices, credit terms, or other bid specifications.

  • Contact new or existing customers to discuss how specific products or services can meet their needs.

  • Emphasize product features based on analyses of customers’ needs and on technical knowledge of product capabilities and limitations.

  • Compute customer’s installation or production costs and estimate savings from new services, products, or equipment.

  • Select or assist customers in selecting products based on customer needs, product specifications,
    and applicable regulations.

  • Prepare sales presentations or proposals to explain product specifications or applications.

  • Complete expense reports, sales reports, or other paperwork.

  • Verify that delivery schedules meet project deadlines.

  • Identify prospective customers using business directories, leads from existing clients, participation in organizations, or trade show or conference attendance.

  • Inform customers of estimated delivery schedules, service contracts, warranties, or other information pertaining to purchased products.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to exchange information, such as selling strategies or marketing information.

    Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelors/Diploma degree in field of biomedical or related required from recognised university

  • Minimum of two years of relevant experience and working knowledge of company products and services

  • Knowledge of the marketing strategies is added advantage.

  • Familiar with the use MS Offices.

    Skills

  • Able to hit sales target achievement of at least 15-20 million every month.

  • Research and convey information to customers about tax benefits or government rebates associated with energy-efficient scientific or technical products, such as solar panels.

  • Negotiate skills on the prices or terms of sales or service agreements.
