Job Summary

  • The Data Quality Officer will work closely with the Data Manager to coordinate data entry, review each submission on the server real-time and provide feedback to the hospital-based study team members.

  • Working with study data manager and hospital-based team troubleshot any data related technical issue.

    Data Manager will be responsible for providing technical assistance on data entry, and quality to three study teams to

  • the screening and enrollment,

  • treatment compliance monitoring,

  • outcome assessment teams.

    Specific Roles and Responsibilities include

  • Provide technical assistance for the screening and enrollment, treatment compliance monitoring and outcome assessment teams to ensure the project data is of high quality.

  • Review each submission on the server real-time and provide feedback to the hospital-based study team members

  • Routinely review the data from the three teams (screening and enrollment, treatment compliance documentation, and outcome assessment teams),

  • Support the data manager in rapid and rigorous data analysis including trend analysis and share with study investigators, study manager and hospital-based study teams

    Job Requirements

    Basic Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in statistics, biostatistics, or related field or bachelor degree in statistics, biostatistics, or related field with at least two years of experience with progressive responsibility in large-scale research data management

  • Experience in data management and data quality improvement.

  • Familiarity with the Ethiopian health system,
    Ethiopian Ministry of Health and Regional Health Bureaus preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience in data collection, evaluation of programs/interventions, and data quality.

  • Knowledge of statistical methods and software packages frequently used in public health research

  • Written and verbal fluency in English required. Written and spoken fluency in Afan Oromo and Amharic languages is desired.

  • Strong writing skills and exceptional oral and written communication skills required.

    Additional Qualifications

  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, supervisory, and organizational skills necessary.

  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple project activities, balance conflicting priorities, and handle confidential information appropriately.

  • Must exhibit tact and diplomacy in inter-cultural settings.

  • Prior field research and academic experience related to maternal and newborn health in Ethiopia is desirable.

  • Exceptional organizational skills, ability to prioritize multiple tasks, and careful attention to detail.

  • Prior experience working with electronic data collection and online databases, and demonstrated experience managing databases.
