AAS Temporary ICT Support Assistant Jobs in Kenya

The AAS is a pan African organisation headquartered in Kenya, which aims to drive sustainable development in Africa through science, technology and innovation.



It has a tripartite mandate of pursuing excellence by recognising scholars and achievers; providing advisory and think tank functions for shaping the continent’s strategies and policies; and implementing key Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) programmes that impact on developmental challenges through the agenda setting and funding platform, the Alliance for Accelerating Excellence in Science in Africa (AESA).


The temporary ICT Support Assistant will work under the supervision of the ICT Officer to provide day-to-day quality support service to staff by providing them with a single point of contact to report problems, to make inquiries, and to get resolutions and answers.


Specific Responsibilities


  • Provide IT helpdesk support and ensuring timely and responsive operational support meeting prescribed SLA’s
  • Continuous updating of the ICT asset and software inventory
  • Assist with carrying out general user awareness and training geared towards improving adoption of IT across the organisation
  • Standardisation of all software installed on all AAS machines
  • Continuous monitoring and weekly reporting of the network services
  • Evaluation and implementation of a suitable help desk system to track all
    user issues and all ICT fixed assets movement.
  • Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the ICT Officer.


    Qualifications, Skills and Experience


  • Degree in IT related field
  • At least two (2) years’ experience in IT user support and systems administration
  • Able to work in an international and multi-cultural setting
  • High moral standing with impeccable integrity.
