AAR Insurance Actuarial and Pricing Analyst Jobs in Kenya;The Actuarial and Pricing Analyst will provide technical support in pricing, quotations, claims analytics, reporting, and portfolio management. The role ensures accuracy in pricing, supports tender processes, monitors scheme performance, and drives innovation in data and systems to enhance underwriting profitability and business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Pricing & Quotations

  • Prepare corporate medical quotations and renewal terms using pricing models.

  • Build and maintain rate tables, apply loadings and statutory gross‑ups.

  • Analyse claims experience, exposure, and benefit changes for renewal pricing.

  • Support tender pricing, including capitation models.

  • Apply underwriting and discount rules, flag breaches, and route approvals.

    Claims & Experience Analytics

  • Monitor loss ratios, claims frequency, and severity across schemes.

  • Conduct experience reviews, anti‑selection analysis, and sensitivity testing.

  • Build provider and scheme claims intelligence with benchmarking.

  • Reconcile claims data across multiple sources and funding arrangements.

    Reporting & Management Insight

  • Produce scheme performance reviews and renewal readiness packs.

  • Maintain dashboards on quotes, premiums, loss ratios, and pipeline.

  • Prepare decision‑ready reports and advisories for management and clients.

    Data & Systems

  • Extract, clean, and structure data from claims, membership, and finance systems.

  • Support development and improvement of pricing and analytics platforms.

  • Drive process innovation using AI to enhance workflows and insights.

  • Automate recurring pricing and reporting tasks.

  • Support data integrations across claims and administration systems.

    Portfolio & Stakeholder Support

  • Support international medical partner portfolio alongside local functions.

  • Collaborate with Underwriting, Sales, and Retention to resolve queries.

  • Provide technical input to product development.

  • Advise management on anomalies,
    risks, and improvement areas.

    Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in health/medical insurance pricing and analytics.

  • Solid progress in actuarial exams (IFoA, SOA, or equivalent).

  • Strong knowledge of medical insurance products, underwriting, and claims.

  • Proven pricing and experience‑analysis work in live insurance environment.

    Technical Skills

  • Advanced Excel and actuarial/financial modelling.

  • SQL for data extraction and manipulation.

  • Python or R for analytics and automation (advantage).

  • Data visualization and dashboarding (Power BI or similar).

  • Ability to handle large claims and membership datasets.

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving ability.

  • High attention to detail and technical accuracy.

  • Clear report writing and presentation skills.

  • Sound commercial judgment.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
