AAR Hospital Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon Jobs in Kenya


Job Purpose
To utilize specialist orthopedic surgical expertise, knowledge, and techniques to diagnose and treat patients.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction in developing and implementing effective Orthopaedic Surgery clinical policies and procedures.

  • Guide and participate in quality assessment plans to ensure continuous improvement of Orthopaedic Surgery services.

  • Carry out patient assessment, treatment, stabilization, and specialized procedures in line with established protocols.

  • Provide clinical support during emergencies including resuscitation, admission, discharge, or referral.

  • Contribute to departmental quality assurance systems through audits, reviews, and clinical meetings.

  • Lead clinical audits, proactive risk management, and facilitate production of required data/information.

  • Engage in research and development initiatives to position the hospital at the forefront of science in patient care.

  • Assist in planning and setting priorities for Orthopaedic Surgery through quality improvement and patient safety activities.

  • Review patient complaints and ensure satisfactory resolution with corrective and preventive actions.

  • Collaborate with consultants to ensure equitable provision of Orthopaedic Surgery services across the hospital.

  • Support learning and development initiatives by identifying skills gaps and providing training opportunities.

    Qualifications

  • Master of Surgery in Orthopedic Surgery.

  • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery.

  • Subspecialty recognition (added advantage).

  • Valid membership and practicing license from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.

    Experience

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a similar position.

  • Leadership experience (added advantage).
