Farm Manager – Propagation Unit

Job Summary
Oversee all farm operations within the Propagation Unit and the wider farm environment, ensuring efficient production, quality standards, resource utilization and achievement of farm performance objectives.
Provide strategic and operational leadership to farm teams while driving productivity, crop quality, operational efficiency and continuous improvement across propagation activities.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and oversee daily operations of the propagation unit and farm production activities.
Plan, organize and coordinate propagation schedules to meet production targets and quality standards.
Supervise propagation processes, crop establishment, plant development and related agricultural operations.
Monitor production performance and implement corrective measures where necessary.
Ensure compliance with production protocols, quality requirements and farm operational procedures.
Optimize utilization of labor, materials, equipment and other farm resources.
Develop and implement strategies to improve productivity, efficiency and crop performance.
Coordinate farm activities with other departments to support overall operational objectives.
Monitor production data, analyze trends and prepare management reports.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and agricultural best practices.
Manage staff performance, workforce planning and employee development initiatives.
Maintain effective communication and collaboration across functional teams.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and implementation of modern agricultural practices.
Ensure achievement of production, quality and operational performance targets.
Qualifications
Degree in Horticulture, Floriculture, Agriculture or a related field.
Additional training in farm management, crop production or agribusiness management is an added advantage.
Experience
Minimum seven (7) to ten (10) years of experience in a Propagation Unit in a similar capacity.
Demonstrated experience managing farm operations within horticultural, floricultural or agricultural production environments.
Experience leading teams and managing production performance in a commercial farming environment.
Proven experience in crop propagation, operational planning and resource management.
