AAA Growers Avocado Manager - Packhouse Jobs in Kenya

AAA Growers Avocado Manager - Packhouse Jobs in Kenya; Reporting to the General Manager, the Avocado Manager will lead and manage all avocado packhouse operations, ensuring efficient production, superior product quality, compliance with international food safety and export standards, and optimal utilization of people, equipment, and resources.

Key Responsibilities

Manage daily packhouse operations including receiving, grading, sorting, packing, storage, and dispatch.

Plan and coordinate production activities based on harvest forecasts and customer orders.

Ensure compliance with customer specifications, export requirements, and food safety standards (GlobalG.A.P., HACCP, BRCGS, SMETA).

Lead quality assurance initiatives to minimize fruit losses and maintain high standards.

Oversee production planning, inventory control, cold room management, and packaging material utilization.

Supervise, coach, and develop packhouse supervisors and operational teams.

Coordinate preventive maintenance to maximize equipment uptime.

Drive efficiency, cost control, waste reduction, and continuous improvement.

Promote compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental standards.

Prepare and analyze operational and performance reports for decision‑making.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Food Science, Agribusiness, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering,

or related field.

Professional certification in HACCP, BRCGS, GlobalG.A.P., or Food Safety is an advantage.

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in fresh produce packhouse operations.

At least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.

Proven experience managing export avocado operations and large teams.

Strong knowledge of export quality standards, post‑harvest handling, food safety systems, inventory management, cold chain management, and production planning.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP or packhouse management systems.
