A Leading Institution of Higher Learning seeks to recruit a suitable competent professional to fill the position of Chief Security Officer. Key responsibilities Include:

• Co-ordinate security operations of the institution.

• Supervise at contracted security firms, monitor their performance and effectiveness.

• Carry out risk assessments and make recommendations to senior management, assessing level of risks in terms of wider issues such as International/national terrorism and safety issues.

• Be accountable for the security budget. staff and assets and efficient and effective provision of operational security services to the institution installations.

• Ensure 'Security by Design' principles are In place thus reducing the opportunely for crime in the Institution.

• Work with the Directorate of Exams In ensuring security and integrity of the examination process.

• Work with the Head of Protocol and others during the planning state and dieing actual events to ensure that Royal and other important visits to the university are safe and secure.

• Advice senior management on confidential or sensitive matters and act as a conduit between the university and the police at at levels in order to expedite solutions to difficult situations.

• Receive and deal with any information that has a security dimension and deal with it Ina confidetial manner.

• Liaise with management, students. staff on matters of security in their areas of operation and mood incidents to management and police.

• Coordinate the training for all the
staff and students on matters of security and safety operations to avoid moor losses in case of unforeseen disaster.

Desired Qualification

  • A Master's degree in Security related field or its equivalent

  • Served as a commission officer in the discipined forces at the level of superintendent of deice or equivalent in the armed forces.

  • Have at least five (5) years' experience as Deputy chief security officer or at a comparable position Clean discharge certificate where applicable]

  • Valid certificate of good conduct Valid first aid certificate

  • Valid fire-fighting certificate Computer literate
