The Wildlife Film Academy is offering scholarships, sponsored by the National Film and Video Foundation, to prospective wildlife filmmakers from previously disadvantaged communities.

The one-month intensive course held in Oranjezicht, Cape Town offers inspirational and informative wildlife filmmaking lectures by industry professionals.

It includes an all expenses paid field trip to a premier game reserve with the chance of filming wildlife in close proximity, and the use of state-of-the-art editing equipment (Final Cut Pro).

Under the tutorage of post-production experts each student will produce a five-minute short film.

Three scholarships are being offered per course, with the courses running in January, February and March.
