An international jury led by world renowned environmental photographer Michael Martin will choose the winner of the contest that is part of the awareness raising campaign of the UNCCD to deliver the message that sustainable land management is the key to secure our common future.
The Photos will be evaluated according to how well they depict either the efforts of people conserving soil, land and/or water in dry lands, or the relationship between affected people and dry lands ecosystems.
Preferably, photos should display people affected by drought or land degradation.
People in action should be in focus.
A jury of eminent personalities advocating for global environmental protection will convene in summer to select the winners.
Entrants must own full copyright to pictures submitted, which they must be able to certify, if requested.
UNCCD retains the unlimited right to use submitted photos for non-profit public information purposes at no cost, in which case the photographers will be credited in connection.
Photos submitted to the contest are not returnable and become the property of UNCCD.
Submissions received cannot be acknowledged.
Deadline 17 July.
