The Orient Global Freedom to Create Prize

The Orient Global Freedom to Create Prize is open to artists in all creative fields.

The prize will be awarded to an individual or group that uses its creative work to promote social justice, build the foundations for an open society and inspire the human spirit.

There are three prize winners in this main category who will share a prize pool of US$ 75,000.

Prizes:

  • The first place winner in the main category will receive a US$ 50,000 prize split into two components. The winner of this award will receive US$ 25,000 and the remaining US$25,000 will be given to an organisation nominated by the winning entrant to further the cause the artwork has highlighted.
  • The second place winner in the main prize category will receive a US$ 15,000 prize with the winner receiving US$ 7,500 and the remaining US$ 7,500 to be given to an organisation nominated by the winning entrant to further the cause the artwork has highlighted.
  • The third place winner in the main prize category will receive a US$ 10,000 prize with the winner receiving US$ 5,000 and the remaining US$ 5,000 to be given to an organisation nominated by the winning entrant to further the cause the artwork has highlighted.

    Eligibility:

  • Individual or group of any gender, religion or nationality over the age of 18
  • Individual or group who use art work to promote social justice, build the foundations for an open society and inspire the human spirit
  • Open to all forms of art

    Entries will be judged on:

  • The artist’s use of the arts to highlight social justice and the need for an open society
  • The message in the piece or body of work
  • The personal risk incurred by the entrant/s in creating and/or disseminating the artwork
  • How the piece and the message was disseminated to the public and its impact in the community
