SIDA International Training Program Grants: As part of the Swedish International Development Agency’s (SIDA) International Training Programmes, the Climate Change and Mitigation training programme will be held in two parts: at Norrkoping, Sweden and at another location (to be decided) from 28 February to 25 March and in October/November respectively.

This training programme is organised by SMHI in cooperation with SWECO and Stockholm Environment Institute.

The overall objective is to increase the knowledge about climate change and its consequences. The aim is to provide methods for identification of vulnerable sectors in the society, both in a national and an international perspective.

Eligible participants can be from NGOs, consulting firms, government, environmental institutes, research organizations and industries. They should be holding key positions in their organizations and should be well-acquainted with climate change issues.

The programme contains a 4-week training course in Sweden and a follow-up seminar in Asia, Latin America or Africa. The training course includes lectures, group and individual exercises as well as study tours.

An individual project work is an important part of the programme. Candidates from Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, Latin America and the Middle East can apply to participate in the programme.

Participation costs and accommodation are covered by SIDA but international travel has to be covered by the participant.
