Key Duties

  • Coordinating material receipts from suppliers and issuing to contractors
  • Processing GRN for approval by the Senior Supplies Officer
  • Leading the stock taking exercise in respective individual storage locations
  • Preparing stock reports
  • Coordinating daily stock reconciliations

    Qualifications

  • B. com, BA in Economics, Business Administration
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Purchasing and Supplies Management

    Chief Engineer Design

    Key Duties

  • Designing for grid and off grid projects
  • Recommending locations of proposed distribution networks-High and Low Voltage lines plus primary and secondary feeding substations
  • Preparing description of projects works, material schedules and cost estimates in rural areas
  • Coordinating and supervising design of major schemes
  • Participating in formulation of power system design standards
  • Participating in procurement and management for design contractual services
  • Liaising with external contractors to ensure that their designs conform to the Authority standards
  • Verifying of technical reports, designs and estimates drawings
  • Preparing distribution system reinforcement budgets
  • Compiling projects technical reports
  • Managing human, finance and material resources assigned to the Division
  • Supervising and appraising sectional staff and identifying their training and development needs
  • Preparing budget and ensuring budgetary controls for the section
  • Implementing management and technological innovations to enhance efficiency.

    Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Civil or Electrical or Electronics Engineering or equivalent
  • Registration with ERB/IEK as Registered Engineer
  • 9 years relevant experience with at least 5 years experience at senior level
  • Evidence of Computer proficiency
  • Prior experience managing a department or section in a busy environment
  • A Masters Degree in an Engineering field will be an added advantage

    Senior Engineer, Design

    Key duties

  • Coordinating , supervising, collecting and collating data on the existing power system in the country in relation to proposed network expansion
  • Designing and recommending locations of new substations
  • Preparing technical reports for various projects
  • Ensuring conductor sagging from the survey profiles and preparing pole schedules as necessary
  • Preparing plans pertaining to substation layout for new substations
  • Preparing drawings for substations, high voltage, medium voltage and low voltage lines
  • Participating in preparing description of projects works materials schedules and cost estimates
  • Managing human, finance and material resources assigned to the section
  • Designing schemes and recommending locations of new substations/transformers as per REA standards

    Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical, Electronic Engineering or related field
  • Registration with the ERB/IEK as a Registered Engineer
  • Evidence of Computer proficiency
  • Management Development Courses, or Leadership Course for at least one month
  • Seven (7) years relevant work experience in a similar position with five (5) years in a supervisory position
  • A Masters Degree in an Engineering field will be an added advantage

    Assistant Wayleave Officers

    Key Duties

  • Receiving and assessing consents obtained
  • Processing acquisitions of way leaves for the expansion of distribution lines as per Authority policies and procedures
  • Attending to wayleaves complaints and resolving them
  • Carrying out inspection of title deeds to establish legal owners of plots affected by REA wayleaves processes
  • Conducting assessments of properties destroyed while the lines are being constructed Approving schemes where wayleaves have been obtained in the system
  • Performing any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Land Economics from a recognized University
  • Must be a registered member of the Institution of Surveyors of Kenya
  • Management Development Course is an added advantage
  • Evidence of Computer literacy

    Senior Engineer Construction

    Key Duties

  • Coordinating the construction and maintenance of electricity distribution systems strictly in accordance with the allowed minimum standards;
  • Ensuring Authority standards and procedures on system operations and safety are adhered to
  • Participating in the procurement of operations and maintenance materials and equipment
  • Preparing and approving payment certificates and attending to contractors and technicians queries/concerns
  • Liaising with Kenya Power for joint inspections, commissioning and maintenance of construction standards and capitalize commissioned projects

    Analyst/Programmer

    Key Duties

  • Responsible for systems design, development and testing of application programs and ABAP customized reports
  • Troubleshooting system errors/bugs and develop appropriate solution
  • Analyzing user requests for SAP system enhancement and configuration and provide appropriate solution
  • Validating new system changes are moved to production correctly and update system documentation
  • Training end users on new system features or upgrades
  • Participating in technical evaluations of proposed ICT Systems
  • Providing support to workflow systems
  • Developing technical documentation including technical manuals and operational procedures for implemented systems.

    Qualifications

  • Bsc degree in computer science, IT information systems or equivalent degree
  • At least three (3) years system development and maintenance experience in a challenging position
  • Good knowledge in programming with exposure to Linux and / or Unix operating systems
  • Proven experience in supporting SAP system, finance and /or procurement business processes will be an added advantage

  • Participating in development of strategies to eliminate or minimize avoidable losses to the Authority
  • Conducting follow-up audits to determine the extent of implementation of audit recommendations
  • Documenting the audit processes/procedures for audit assignments
  • Ensuring proper authorization for transaction/documents

    Qualifications

  • Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering or its equivalent from a recognized University, 2nd Class Honours Upper Division
  • Be a registered Graduate Engineer by relevant Registration Board
  • CPA(K), ACCA, CISA, CIA qualifications will be an added advantage
  • Have good working knowledge of Computer operations and systems
  • High integrity with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Effective analytical skills and ability to demonstrate effective leadership

    3rd Assistant Engineer (Electrical System Protection)

    Key Duties

  • Preparation and evaluation of tenders for electrical works
  • Supervising of electrical works for off-grid power projects;
  • Participating in commissioning of new generators and switchgears for off-grid power stations
  • Carrying out of electrical tests for off-grid power machines and equipments to ascertain availability of sufficient protection for all newly constructed stations
  • Participating in Factory Acceptance Tests for machines and equipments to be supplied to the organization

    Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical, Electronic Engineering or Higher National Diploma in Electrical Engineering with bias towards Systems Protection or equivalent from a recognized Institution
  • Registered graduate engineer or graduate technician engineer as the case may be with the Kenya Engineers Registration Board (KERB)
  • Degree holders with five (5) years relevant experience to have served for at least three (3) years at the level of 4th assistant engineer/superintendent, preferably in technical services/distribution or other related function
  • For Higher Diploma to have served for at least four (4) years preferably in services/distribution or other related function
  • Computer literacy
