Research Student Scholarships

Target: Students wishing to pursue Masters or Doctoral degrees or post-graduate research in Japanese graduate institutions.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a Kenyan born on or after April 2, 1975
  • First-class bachelor's degree
  • Under 35 years of age.

    Fields of Study:

  • Applicants must apply to study the same or related field as that studied at undergraduate or master’s level, including both natural sciences and humanities.
  • Must be fields of study available for study and research in Japanese universities.

    Applicants are advised to check whether their fields of study are available through the links provided at the scholarship homepage.

    How to Apply:

    Prospective applicants should read the details carefully and obtain FREE application forms (documents to be submitted together with the form are listed on the application form).

    Application forms can be obtained from the Japan Information and Culture Centre situated within the premises of the Embassy of Japan along Mara Road, Upper Hill in Nairobi or downloaded.

    The form and the documents may be hand delivered or posted but must be received at the Scholarships Desk before the deadline: 5 pm on Friday May 8.

    Applicants are advised to apply long before the deadline.
