Quaker Peace & Social Witness is one of the central committees of Britain Yearly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends - the national organisation of Quakers in Britain.
It works to promote British Quakers' testimonies of equality, justice, peace, simplicity and truth. It works alongside both small local and large international pressure groups.
Quaker Peace & Social Witness has an exciting opening for:
Peace-worker
Qualifications:
Must be adaptable, culturally sensitive.
French-speaker and able to work as part of a small team.
Transferable skills in administration and communication.
Good spoken French, ideally at A-level or beyond, and an ability to develop this to a point of fluency once in-country
Administrative competence and good computer skills (Microsoft Office programmes)
Excellent written and oral communication skills, including an ability to represent the organisation to a range of external stakeholders
Humility and a willingness to learn, and a desire to use this placement to further your development in the field of peace and conflict work
Adaptability in unpredictable and stressful circumstances, flexibility, good humour in the face of frustrations, and the ability to work under pressure in a small team with limited resources
Excellent cross-cultural communication and relationship-building skills.
