Post Doctoral Fellow in Catchment Modelling-Water Quality, Hamilton - New Zealand

This is an opportunity to undertake research on a two year Post-doctoral grant on the modelling of diffuse pollution from catchments.

You will join an active team of researchers in this area, within a multi-disciplinary work environment.

Your work will involve development and testing of new models and applying existing models, to complement our existing catchment modelling of nutrients, microbes and sediments.

The Post-Doc provides funding for research projects, and in addition provides the opportunity to contribute to NIWA research programmes and high-level consulting activities.

You must have a PhD in a relevant field such as applied mathematics, hydrology, or environmental engineering.

You will need to have strong mathematical/computer modelling skills, and preferably will have experience with computer programming languages, GIS, and water quality data analysis.

You must have the ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team, be motivated to publish in highly-rated peer-reviewed journals and present results at international conferences, and have the ability to interact and communicate positively with a wide range of people.
