Port Louis Fund Ltd will provide financial assistance to six (6) full time needy undergraduate students every year.

The amount proposed per student per year is Rs 20,000 and will be allocated for the duration of the programme not exceeding four years.

Eligibility

For a student to be eligible for a scholarship under the PLF CSR Programme, the following conditions should be satisfied:

The student must:

  • Be citizens and residents of the Republic of Mauritius.
  • Have secured a seat at the University of Mauritius.
  • Come from low-income families and/or whose parents are recipients of social security aids
  • Have unexpected personal difficulties at any time during the year
  • Have enrolled on full-time programmes at UoM in any Faculty
  • Not have concurrently benefited from any other grant or scholarship for the same programme

    PLF will advertise in the local press inviting applications from students who satisfy the above conditions.

    The selection of the beneficiaries will be made by the PLF in consultation with the University as per criteria defined and approved by PLF.

    Students must provide evidence that they come from a low income group family.

    The Scholarship will cease with immediate effect if academic performance (CPA<40 for two (2) consecutive semesters/at the end of an academic years) of the Scholar is unsatisfactory at the end of Year 1 or Year 2
