Oil City Limited is an Oil marketing company seeking to recruit staffs to fill the following vacancies:

1. Financial Controller

Scope:

Reporting to the CEO, The Financial Controller will ensure effective and continuous improvement of financial control systems, procedures and policies in the organisation.

She/he will also be expected to maintain accurate financial records, timely financial reports, effective cost control and utilisation of resources.

Qualifications:

  • Age 30-50 years
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA (K) or (ACCA)
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience, 3 of which should be at a senior management level in a busy profit oriented enterprise, preferably oil industry.
  • MBA, Finance or Economics from a recognised university will be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of computer accounting packages.
  • Team leader with good interpersonal skills and business acumen.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and meet organisation’s financial targets.

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulating and reviewing finance and accounting procedures and policies.
  • Ensuring effective management and utilisation of resources and assets.
  • Ensuring preparation of timely and accurate financial accounts in line with approved budgets.
  • Ensuring timely preparation and presentation of financial statements to the CEO and the BOD.
  • Ensuring maintenance of accurate records and management of budgets and budgetary controls.
  • Maintaining day to day internal controls of accounting systems.
  • Develop and implement strategies relating to overall financial management of the organisation,

    2. Supply Manager

    Basic Function

    Manage the petroleum products supply chain planning process, including forecasting, procurement of inventory to maintain budgeted inventory tums and fill rates for the regional market in a dynamic marketing environment which also includes own and third party storage locations and order fulfilment.

    Specific Duties

  • Develop, document and execute a regional comprehensive logistics and distribution strategy that will drive optimal customer service and profitability.
  • Optimize the supply activities by providing crude or refined petroleum products to the right locations, at the right times, at the lowest possible cost, safely and incident-free.
  • Coordinate entire planning process, including procurement, refining, storage, transfers, inventory control, distribution and logistics.
  • Drive operational excellence and sharing of best practices across the business in order to reduce cost to serve on an ongoing basis
  • Oversee the purchasing of petroleum products required based on planned demand from Supply Chain Planning Module and inputs from marketing
  • Custodianship and reconciliation of petroleum products inventories at company and third party locations
  • Inventory invoice processing and costing
  • Maintain good relationships with all stakeholders active in the supply chain of petroleum products to ensure unhampered flow of petroleum products.

    Qualifications

  • University Degree (accounting, economics, sciences) or an equivalent Proficiency in MS Office Applications
  • 3 years’ experience in inventory management, procurement, logistics and/or distribution. Good working knowledge of an ERP
  • High degree of integrity and professional responsibility
  • Good planning and organizational skills with adaptability and ability to work under strict deadlines. Exceptional analytical and problem solving abilities
