Country Director / Technical Director

The MENTOR Initiative (MENTOR) is an international non-governmental organisation devoted to reducing death and suffering from malaria in humanitarian crises.

The MENTOR Initiative is currently providing ongoing emergency support to the most vulnerable communities in Liberia, Angola, Kenya, the Central African Republic, South Sudan and Chad.

The MENTOR Initiative have been implementing innovative, high quality malaria control programmes in Liberia since 2002 and currently are seeking a Country/ Technical Director to oversee and manage their projects in the country.

The successful candidate is expected to be an experienced project administrator and excellent communicator as well as being conversant and technically competent in malaria control.

The CD/TD will oversee the overall implementation of the Liberia programmes and provide the administrative management of MENTOR projects in the country.

Additionally, they will have specific technical and administrative management of introducing malaria medication and rapid tests into the private sector.

The consultant will assist the project through being MENTOR’s lead representative in Liberia, providing technical support; fundraising and grant management including report writing; Programme finance, administration and logistics and general coordination, supporting MENTOR international activities.

He/she will be entrusted with the critical task of ensuring the programmes achieve its objectives in terms of all technical and operational activities in accordance with the programme grant/award and The MENTOR Initiative guidance/guidelines.

Technical Placement for Liaison Officer

The Technical Placement is a learning role in which the successful person will learn new administration and programs skills and systems with The MENTOR Initiative – South Sudan.

The Technical Placement officer will support the CD in the various tasks set forth.

The position will be based in Juba with potential short trips to the field if required by the line manager.

As a member of the South Sudan Team, the Technical Placement contributes to the development of the overall country programme and plays an essential role in coordinating support from Juba level.

This position is non-remunerated. The Compensation is an in-country living allowance of 22 USD per day, comprehensive insurance, and a round-trip flight to and from the country field programme. Accommodation is provided by The MENTOR Initiative during the period of the Technical Placement.
