Leverhulme Trust Visiting Fellowships - UK

The Trustees are offering Visiting Fellowships to a number of UK universities to enable them to invite visitors to the UK for the purpose of research and collaboration.

The aim is to enable post-doctoral academic researchers (normally with no more than eight years post-doctoral experience) to visit the UK university for the purpose of research and collaboration.

Visiting Fellows are encouraged to give lectures and seminars and to participate in the intellectual life of the institution.

Eligible Fields:

Visiting Fellows may be in any field for a period between 9 and 12 consecutive months for each Visiting Fellow.

Eligible Costs:

  • Subsistence expenses of up to £1,800 per month
  • Spouse allowance of up to £3,900 for an accompanying spouse/partner
  • Return fare for the Fellow and spouse/partner
  • London allowance of up to £2,600 for the Fellow
  • Up to £750 for travel within the UK for the Fellow for research trips, conferences, etc.

    Application Procedure:

    Only universities on the rota selected by the Trustees may nominate Fellows.

    Individuals from overseas wishing to undertake a Visiting Fellowship should approach the relevant university to determine internal selection procedures.

    Individuals should NOT contact the Leverhulme Trust directly.
