Japanese Award for Outstanding Research on Development

The Japanese Award for Outstanding Research on Development is for outstanding research proposals that provide new dimensions to development research on any of the five selected themes

Eligibility: citizens and permanent residents of developing or transition countries who are based in these regions or who are temporarily based in a developed country for no more than 5 years; staff of bilateral/multilateral agencies not eligible.

Age limit: 45 years

Prize Amount:

  • First Prize: US $30,000;
  • Second Prize: US $5,000
