International PhD Stipend In Spatial And Computational Statistics

At the Faculty of Engineering, Science and Medicine, Department of Mathematical Sciences, an International PhD Stipend in Spatial and Computational Statistics is available within the general study programme Mathematics and Physics.

The International PhD Stipend is granted by the Danish Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, and it is planned that the PhD student will spend approximately half the time at Department of Mathematical Sciences at Aalborg University, one quarter the time at Department of Statistics at University of Chicago, and one quarter the time at School of Mathematics and Statistics at University of Western Australia. Allocation of a PhD stipend requires that an agreement can be made with the Department of Mathematical Sciences concerning availability of a supervisor.

The PhD stipend is available from 1st of August or as soon as possible after this date, PhD stipend No. 562/06-17-27874.

According to the formal regulations of the Faculty, PhD stipends are allocated to individuals who hold a Master’s degree.

PhD stipends normally have a duration of 3 years and it is a prerequisite for allocation of the stipend that enrolment as a PhD student at the Doctoral School of the Faculty of Engineering, Science and Medicine takes place with reference to completion of a research education according to the regulations of the Ministerial Order No. 114 of 8. March about the PhD degree.

According to the Ministerial Order the progress of the PhD student shall be assessed every six months.

It is a prerequisite for continuation of payment that the previous progress is approved at the time of the evaluation.

The qualifications of the applicant will be assessed by an assessment committee.

On the basis of the recommendation of the assessment committee the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Science and Medicine will make a decision for allocating the stipend.

Appointment and salary according to the Circular of Ministry of Finance of May 4, about the Agreement for Publicly Employed University Graduates and circular of April 4, about minutes for an Agreement for Publicly Employed University Graduates (AC) about PhD stipends holders.
