ICTs for Advocacy Internship - Kenya

The Young Women's Leadership Institute (YWLI) is a feminist organisation that nurtures young women’s leadership and creates and provides spaces for young women’s participation in policy processes.

The intern will provide support in the following areas:

  • Technical support to the YWLI’s Management of Information Systems (MIS)
  • Publishing of the Feminist Voices bulletin
  • Moderating online discussions with network members

  • Ensuring an active list serve for network members
  • Maintenance and updating of the YWLI website

    The intern will also be expected to initiate and implement an innovative project that uses information and communication technologies (ICTs) to connect, mobilise, and network with young women.

    The deadline for application is February 15th.

    Application Information

    Requirements for applicant:

  • An academic background in a field related to social work, women’s rights, or gender equality. A degree is an added advantage but not a requirement.

  • An academic background and excellent practical skills in information technology.

  • A demonstrated commitment to women’s rights.

  • Demonstrated innovativeness and ability to think ‘outside the box.’

  • Ability to take initiative as well as to work independently and as part of a team.
