Spanning almost a quarter of a century, Health Unlimited’s work has now grown to include programmes in 13 countries across Africa, Asia and Latin America (with more currently in development).

Regional Finance Officer:

This is a key role within Health Unlimited’s Africa Regional Office.

As Regional Finance Officer, you are responsible for the systems and processes that enable us to deliver our work, and meet Headquarters and Donor requirements.

Health Unlimited needs a Regional Finance Officer who can ensure that they have stringent financial and reporting procedures that are reliably followed – and in so doing safeguard resources and minimise risk, more than satisfy the needs of donors and public accountability, and most importantly facilitate the effective delivery of our work.

Moreover, the incumbent will be responsible for the managing the accounts of the Ethiopia-Kenya Cross-Border (REACH) Program.

This is therefore a demanding role that requires an exceptional person with vision,foresight and meticulous attention to detail – but for such a person it will also be an extremely rewarding role.

Qualifications Required:

A recognised senior accountancy qualification and/or a degree or diploma in NGO Finance.

Experience at senior level in the finance department of an organisation, preferably but not necessarily a development organisation.

Good at working under pressure and to tight deadlines

Excellent, well-organised manager with strong attention to detail

Able to deliver with limited resources

Excellent organisational skills, ability to solve problems

Able to adapt to rapidly changing demands while retaining a clear strategic focus

Able to think and plan strategically

Able to meet and monitor deadlines and targets Demonstrable knowledge and skills in:

QuickBooks accounting or similar system.

Successful introduction of new systems.

Preparing budgets and management accounts.

Financial management of complex projects with multiple sources of income in different currencies.

Managing accounts for private and institutional funding streams

Managing IT and office systems
