The Global Water Partnership (GWP) is a worldwide network which has since 1996 successfully been supporting countries in their efforts to implement a more equitable and sustainable management of their water resources.
During this period, GWP focus has gradually expanded from global to regional, national and sub-national level.
The network spans over 60 countries in 13 regions, with its secretariat located in Stockholm, Sweden.

Position: Programme Officer
Reports to: Regional Coordinator
LOCATION: Entebbe Uganda
Overall responsibility:
The overall responsibility of the PO is to coordinate projects and activities in Technical goals 1 and 2 and build, develop and maintain key strategic partnerships as well as support the related Knowledge Management and Network activities (of goals 3 and 4).
Specific Duties
The PO also has responsibilities in Goals 3 (knowledge management) and Goal 4 (the GWP EnA network).
The PO develops project proposals, documents and budgets, oversees project implementation with all Partners (strategic and country partners), reviews progress and reports to GWPO-Stockholm and all donors.
The PO also coordinates information on regional, national and local IWRM cases as input into the ToolBox.
Applications and Period of Service
The position is a regional position and appointment is on contract duration which will initially be for one (1) years starting with a 6-month probation period renewable through annually extensions based on performance and availability of funds.
The work station is Entebbe, Uganda, although work might necessitate trips to the other GWP EnA and beyond.

Qualifications
Knowledge of French is an advantage.
