Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and control the company’s standard costing system, with responsibility for maintaining accurate standard costs across the entire product range, and reviewing and reporting on costs and variances

  • Ensure month end reports are delivered accurately and on time, with explanations of key trends and variances

  • Provide meaningful and accurate budgets and forecasts, manage all product costing, production and supply chain budgets and forecast cycles.

  • Annual review and update of standard costings

  • Monitor actual cost development, provide early warnings on deviations and advise on corrective actions

  • Ensure reliability and integrity of accounting records (accounts and cost centers, capex vs opex)

  • Create a high performing Finance team through leadership and individual/team development plans

  • Responsible for Surprise/monthly/Yearly stock count

  • Monitoring stock levels

  • Coordinate yearly financial audit and work with Tax team related to any tax audit

  • Prepare, review, control and validate Monthly Inventory Reporting and develop robust CAPEX tracking dashboard

  • Review regularly the performance of our supply chain operations and develop key performance indicators to support effective decision making and cost saving programs

  • In coordination with Finance teams, apply and put in place recommendations made by internal audit (or financial auditors) to guarantee compliance with financial standards and corporate governance.

  • Proactively, provide relevant business support to optimize profitability: working capital, stock reduction, business case, ROI, profitability analysis, cost savings opportunities, ad-hoc analysis

  • Monitor and analyze price pressure on manufacturing operations, to ensure we are continually understanding our cost of manufacturing in house and with 3rd parties
    Business Planning and Capital investment program
    management to ensure the most appropriate process, business case and post reviews

  • Review of Capital Expenditure proposals and return on investment, with overall responsibility for fixed asset registers

  • Prepare, review, control and validate Monthly Inventory Reporting and develop robust CAPEX tracking dashboard.

  • Deliver the monthly financial report for the management including budget/forecast actual variance analysis and recommendations
    Process adherence on NAV system related to Stock, General ledger, accruals, reporting Fixed assets and related reconciliations

    Job Requirements

    Competencies

    Functional competency

  • Functional knowledge of manufacturing finance, Inventory & cost accounting is a must with 5 to 7 years of experience with FMCG background.

  • There should be 2 to 3 years of experience in supervisory role and handling a team of 4 to 8 people.

    Qualifications Required

    Education

  • MSc in Finance and Accounting/MBA /Part Qualified Accountant

    Experience

  • 5-7 years financial, commercial & market experience in accounting/analytical roles with FMCG sector experience and experience of managing teams.

    Must have experience of:

  • Business Performance evaluation
    Budgeting & Forecasting for multiple business units

  • Good internal/external communicator being able to build strong relationships, influencing and presenting at a senior level Desirable
    Working experience in Ethiopia

  • Knowledge of local market environment & trends, government policy and regulatory requirements
