4G Capital DevOps Engineer Jobs in Kenya; Design, build, and operate platform capabilities including cloud runtime, CI/CD pipelines, API gateway, and release infrastructure for mobile and desktop applications

Work across the full delivery lifecycle, set technical direction, partner with engineering teams, and mentor engineers

Treat platform as a product with engineering teams as customers

Key Responsibilities

Lead design, evolution, and operation of cloud runtime platform

Own infrastructure-as-code estate (Terraform modules, state management, refactoring legacy configs)

Build and operate CI/CD pipeline platform serving multiple engineering teams

Drive improvements in API gateway platform (proxy patterns, workflows, automated deployment)

Build and maintain release pipelines for mobile and desktop applications

Develop service templates and golden paths for production-ready services

Pilot new platform capabilities, document clearly, and support adoption

Participate in platform on-call rotation

Mentor engineers and shape technical direction of DevOps team

Requirements

Required

Significant experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or site reliability engineering

Deep hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (compute, networking, identity, operations)

Strong proficiency with Terraform (module design, refactoring large estates)

Experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines for multiple teams

Ownership of production systems (on-call, incident response)

Understanding of trunk-based development and modern release engineering

Proficiency with containerised workloads, serverless architectures, cloud-native design patterns

Strong scripting/automation skills (Bash, Python, etc.)

Track record of producing platform capabilities and documentation

adopted by engineers

Experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction

Nice to Have

Hands-on experience with enterprise API gateways

Experience building mobile/desktop CI/CD pipelines (code signing, store distribution)

Familiarity with internal developer portals

Background in regulated industries (financial services/fintech)

Google Cloud certifications (Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer, Cloud Architect)
