3iS Design Officer Jobs in Ethiopia; 3iS is seeking a Design Officer to support our efforts in creating visually engaging and impactful content. The Design Officer will focus on video editing for training materials, infographic design, and the use of generative AI to produce images and video clips to enhance our organizational initiatives and communication strategies. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for design, strong technical skills, and a passion for humanitarian work.

Main Responsibilities

Video Editing:

Edit high-quality videos for training materials, ensuring clarity, professionalism, and alignment with 3iS’s branding.

Add graphics, animations, and subtitles to enhance video content.

Utilize generative AI tools to create video clips and enhance video production workflows.

Manage and organize video assets for easy access and reuse.

Infographic Design:

Create visually compelling infographics to summarize complex information into clear and accessible formats.

Develop design templates for recurring projects to maintain brand consistency.

Collaborate with program teams to understand and visually represent key data and insights.

Generative AI Integration:

Use generative AI tools to produce high-quality images and short video clips that align with project themes.

Stay updated on advancements in generative AI for design purposes and recommend tools for integration.

Innovate workflows by combining traditional design approaches with generative AI capabilities.
Content Development:

Design visual materials for presentations, reports, and promotional content.

Contribute to the creation of newsletters, brochures, banners, and other materials.

Ensure all visual outputs adhere to 3iS’s branding guidelines.

Capacity Building:

Train staff in basic design principles and tools to enhance internal content creation capabilities.

Required Qualifications

Education:

A degree or

certification in Graphic Design, Multimedia Design, Visual Arts, or a related field.

Experience:

At least 3 years of experience in video editing and graphic design.

Proven track record of creating training materials and infographics.

Experience using generative AI tools for image or video creation is a plus.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or equivalent.

Expertise in graphic design tools like Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Canva.

Familiarity with generative AI tools (e.g., MidJourney, Runway, DALL·E) for design and video enhancement.

Familiarity with animation tools is a plus.

Competencies:

Strong visual storytelling skills.

Ability to simplify complex ideas into clear, engaging designs.

Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Interest in exploring innovative tools to improve design workflows.

Language

English (fluent) – essential

Amharic (fluent) – essential

Ability to work independently and remotely while maintaining consistent communication with the team.
