  • We are therefore inviting applications to fill the following vacant position:

    REGIONAL SALES MANAGER (1 x Copperbelt and 1 x Lusaka)

  • The successful candidates will report to the National Retailing Manager .

    Responsibilities

    • Provide input into the retailing strategy for the region.

    • Collaborate with senior management and directors in ensuring full alignment in implementing the strategic objectives.

    • Grow the sales and profitability of the sales region.

    • Carry out outlet level sales forecasting and target setting and ensure that the region achieves the set sales and profitability targets.

    • Ensure optimal stock holding to avoid overstocking and prevent any stock outs.

    • Ensure all the outlets have the requisit equipment and tools carry out their duties.

    • Monitor stock movements to ensure correct processing of transactions and integrity of outlet data in the region.

    • Ensure outlets are properly presented and laid out to stimulate sales.

    • Periodically carry out full outlet audits involving a full outlet stock count, safe cash count and gross profit calculations.

    • Ensure stock losses are minimised to enhance profitability.

    • Ensure each outlet is self sustaining and meeting weighted average Gross Profit targets.

    • Execute the promotions calendar for the region.

    • Collaborate with all suppliers into the outlets to ensure smooth and consistent supplies.

    • Gathering market intelligence on pricing and other trends to assist with decision making.

    • Manage
    the relevant overhead expenditure budgets.

    • Ensure timely clossure of all customer and internal queries for the region.

    • Prepare monthly sales and profitability reports for retailing senior management.

    • Ensure staff development for Area Managers and Butchery staff for sustainable succession planning.

    • Ensure all relevant training is done and signed off for all staff in the region.

    • Maintain high levels of hygiene in every outlet and ensure the working environment is safe for staff and customers.

    • Take full responsibility for an Area Manager’s routes and provide cover to ensure minimum stock take requirements are met.

    • Ensure all retail outlets have all necessary trading licences and meet all legal requirements to operate.

    • Ensure all outlet cash, stock and process controls are implemented and effective in the region.

    • Review all staff disciplinary issues being handled by Area Managers and ensure that correct procedures are followed and HR are fully consulted

    • Participate in the recruitment process for regional staff

    • Carry out any additional activities assigned by superiors

    This job is particularly suitable for candidates who meet the following requirements: –

    • Grade 12 certificate with minimum 5 credits.

    • Degree in Business Management, Accounts, Marketing, Sales or any Commercial field.

    • 5 years’ experience in sales in a food industry of FMCG.

    • Good understanding of retail outlet controls.

    • Retailing experience is an added advantage.

    • Computer literate with working knowledge in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
