World Vision International Regional HIV/AIDS Advisor Jobs in South Africa


Purpose of Position:

  • The primary purpose of this position is to build capacity of 9 Southern Africa National Offices (NOs) in HIV & AIDS programming, support them in grant acquisition and management, particularly PEPFAR, Global Fund as well as developing and implementing Health and HIV&AIDS technical approaches and programs in alignment with Global Centre (GC) and international best practice.

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Leadership:

  • National Offices develop and implement Technical Approaches and Programs that meet partnership standards and meet international standards.

    Capacity Development:

  • Capacity of national offices in HIV/AIDS and OVC Programing built (e.g. develop ability to implement HIV prevention programs for adolescents).
  • External Representation and Coordination:
  • WV Represented in HIV/AIDS programing in the region with major donors such as Global Fund, EU and US Government.

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Must have a degree in health related field (Bachelor of Medicine, Nutrition, Nursing or other related field) with a Masters in Public Health preferred.
  • Minimum of seven years of experience in managing HIV/AIDS programs or projects in developing countries.
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment excellent skills required in program design, reporting and documentation, and monitoring and evaluation.

    World Vision International Service Management Specialist II Jobs in South Africa

    Key Responsibilities:

    Technical Support:

  • Second point of contact and day-to-day technical support to end users.
  • Responds to Level 2 support requests via multiple sources such as phone and e-mail.
  • Ensures that all customer issues/requests are recorded into the ticketing system.
  • Diagnoses problems by evaluating multiple options and escalates problems when necessary as per procedure.
  • Interacts with clients in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Participates in integration and user acceptance testing of new service desk tools/practices.

    Others:

  • Special assignments as appropriate to the role.
  • Attend, participate in, and lead devotional/chapel meetings as scheduled and convened.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.
  • Technical certification in one or more IT disciplines or technology. E.g. ITIL Foundation, Microsoft certification, project management training, customer service and communication, etc.
  • Experience in Service / Account Management, Customer Support, Project Management, Continuous Improvement, or Issue Resolution.
  • Typically requires 5 to 7 years of experience within the relevant area of work performed preferably in IT or high tech industry with Service Management experience in ICT Managed Services.

    Preferred:

  • Ability to communicate technical procedures or tasks to non-IT customers.
  • Able to work under tight deadlines and cope with pressure.
  • Strong analytical, reporting and organizational skills.

    World Vision International Regional Leader Jobs in South Africa

    Purpose of Position:

  • To direct regional operations of World Vision, provide leadership to National Directors and ensure effective management of ministry in alignment with WV’s Vision, Mission, Core Values and global strategic directions.
  • This includes all areas of operations including but not limited to; strategy management, people management, financial resource management, risk management, board and partnership engagement while at the same time managing the performance and effectiveness of National Directors.
  • To represent, position, enhance and protect World Vision’s ministry in the region both internally within the WV partnership and externally to relevant audiences and bodies.

    Major Responsibilities:

    Strategic Leadership:

  • Provide strategic leadership to effectively deliver the whole mission through National Offices and regional initiatives, in alignment with WV Vision, Goals, Mission, Core Values, global strategy.
  • Lead the implementation of the Partnership Strategy, Our Promise 2030, while building unity and promoting a culture of twin-citizenship across all the National Offices and the Regional Office.
  • Be accountable for the development and periodic review of regional strategy and priorities that clearly support the partnership strategic mandates, objectives and priorities.
  • Adjust regional / national structures so to optimize the impact for the most vulnerable children.
  • Accompany and support the WV entities that will become self-sufficient in the adjustment of the strategy and presence in their countries to achieve the needed impact.
  • Be ultimately accountable for executive leadership in emergencies II and III (Levels 2 and 3) responses, in liaison with regional HEA management

    Knowledge Experience:

  • A minimum of ten years experience providing strategic leadership as a senior organizational leader, within the humanitarian industry, and three years’ (3) senior leadership experience in Africa is required.

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field is required.
  • A minimum of five years’ (5) experience managing a multi-cultural leadership team is required, with a heart and a passion for the region and its peoples.
  • Proven ability to work and lead successfully with conflict and post-conflict contexts.
  • Demonstrated excellence in being a Partnership player, with the ability to build unity and create an organizational behavior that fits the demands of the new Partnership Strategy
