Voluntary Service Overseas Communications Officer Job Vacancies in South Africa


We are looking for a Communications Officer (Internal Communications) to support VSO's communications internally and with volunteers. This will include working with staff across VSO to shape and deliver VSO's overall internal communications strategy for internal audiences and volunteers. The successful candidate will work with the staff and leadership across VSO to deliver ad-hoc communications that meet the immediate and short-term needs of the organisation as it reacts, responds to and shapes events.

Skills, qualifications and experience

  • A relevant degree in Communications Minimum 5 years' internal and/or external communications experience required.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills Ability to translate complex information into engaging, readable copy.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines. Ability to work on own initiative and within a team, and across a complex organisation at all levels.
  • Experience of working in partnership with others in an organisation. Experience of organising internal or external events.
  • High level of IT skills especially in MS Office. Experience of working across different countries and cultures.
