Duties & Responsibilities

  • Plans, organizes and co-ordinates activities in the branch and ensures sufficient economical operations and proper efficient service to the members

  • Enforce proper operation procedures such as insurance limits, customers security, cash limits, safes and strong room and maintain key register

  • Overall responsibility to grow the branch business including loan book and growth in customer base through close supervision of the credit team.

  • Chair the branch-staff credit committee
    Authorizes and approves loans within the branch limit

  • Co-ordinate customer care function in the branch to ensure that members are satisfactorily served.

  • Ensures safe custody of all branch assets including cash

  • Advises the finance manager on all security matters and other arising issues in the branch

  • Plays the role of a public relations officer in the branch

  • Assign duties to all branch staff and conduct surprise physical checks

  • Recommends the development of branch staff

  • Appraises the tellers, customer care officers, loans officer, marketing officer, microcredit officer, recovery officer and the micro credit field officers (credit team). Their appraisals are reviewed by the respective department heads at the head office.
    supervise the preparation of daily and monthly reconciliation, monthly trial balances, monthly and quarterly reports on reconciliation and development of savings, loans, debts, liquidity reserve and taking proper action on such information.

  • Ensures that yearly branch budgets are prepared within the given SLA

  • Market and cross-sell
    the Sacco products and services

  • Oversee the maintenance of the treasury book

  • Any other duty assigned by the management

  • The holder of the branch manager’s position must;

    Minimum Qualifications]

  • Degree in a relevant business field

  • CPA part 2 or ACCA1

  • Diploma in co-operative management is added advantage

  • computer proficiency especially in accounting packages and systems

  • knowledge of Fosa and credit operations

  • knowledge of operation of various Sacco software systems an added advantage
    at least three years’ experience in a similar capacity or banking experience
