US Embassy OVC Case Management Lead Technical Trainer of Trainers Jobs in UgandaBasic Function of the PositionThe incumbent will plan, train and evaluate participants in accordance with Peace Corps and U.S. Government requirements as well as Feed the Future requirements at a training venue where accommodation and meals will be catered for.
The expected working Hours are from 8 am to 6 pm, including lunch and breaks, Friday – Saturday, Friday October 23 and Sunday October 24 being TOT days for the technical facilitators.
Two extra days following the training added on for report writing and another for briefing.
Specific duties and responsibilities
Area of Expertise
Expert knowledge and skills on OVC programming and Case Management in Uganda
Design OVC Case Management session plans and deliver them to the Peace Corps staff and any other selected host country nationals using appropriate techniques and methodologies;
Design low cost OVC Case Management training materials.
Conduct sessions to adult participants with various technical backgrounds, experiences and cross cultural setting.
Make daily participant assessments and adjust session plans according to the additional learning needs identified.
Experience in training adult Trainers of Trainers on OVC Case Management in Uganda
Perform daily check-ins for the participants to gauge their learning progress
Share overview of OVC Case Management Standard Operating Procedures and Toolkit and receive constructive feedback from the participants.
Prepare and support field participants during OVC Case Management field visits
Using expertise in training to impart cultural knowledge about OVC programing to participants during formal sessions.
Lead the preparation of all relevant OVC Case Management session plans during three day TOT and deliver the same with OVC Case Management Co-facilitator to participants during the week of training.
Lead the design appropriate training materials from locally available materials to enhance learning.
Aligning session contents to Peace Corps program context through close collaboration and guidance from OVC Case Management co-facilitator, Peace Corps Health Program Staff and Training Manager.
Secure relevant OVC Case Management Standard Operating Procedures, Toolkits, service package and other materials
Lead the preparation of training toolkit for each of the participants with key OVC Case Management materials and tools.
Documentation and Reporting
Maintain a soft copy file of session plans, presentations and any other relevant literature;
Submit a brief end of training report to Peace Corps HIV/AIDS Coordinator detailing the general overview of the training, what has been covered, what needs improvement, and the subsequent trainings;
Lead and provide technical guidance to the OVC Case Management co-facilitator
Be an activate member of the OVC Technical Training Team
Participate in team building activities designed to develop team spirit and responsibility;
Attend meetings as scheduled
Share individual talents and expertise with colleagues and participants.
Field support to participants (Approximately 3 hours for 1 day)
Support participants where necessary during experiential visits to an OVC site implementing Case Management.
Ensure site visit activities are run as planned.
Support participants relate the classroom and field experience.
Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Peace Corps HIV/AIDS Coordinator or the Training Manager or Health Program Manager.
Qualifications and Experience
A bachelor’s degree formal training is required.
Certification or experience of at least two years as Technical Trainer for National Trainer of Trainers in OVC Case Management in Uganda is required.
Over four years of experience of OVC Programming in Uganda with PEPFAR Programs is required.
Knowledge on PEPFAR and OVC Programming in Uganda is required
Experience in adult training and community development is required.
Good interpersonal and cross-cultural skills desired
Excellent communication skills in English and at least one of the following Ugandan language (Luganda, Runyolo/Rutoolo, Runyankole/Rukiga, Lumasaaba, Luo, Lusoga, Lusamia) are required.
Experience conducting similar training with any of the US agencies or its Implementing Partner(s) is required
Good judgment and problem solver
Management and supervision experience and / or aptitude
