Univ. Maryland Population Data Officer/HRIO/HRIT Jobs in Kenya The University of Maryland Baltimore Global Health Initiatives through its operating arm Maryland Global Initiatives Corporation (MGIC) Kenya implements comprehensive HIV prevention, care and treatment programs to facilitate the Kenya Ministry of Health to control the spread of HIV and rapidly scale up HIV services, institute continuous quality improvement methods as well as the M & E infrastructure necessary to support these services.
MGIC Kenya is seeking suitably qualified persons able to fill the positions below:
Population Data Officer/HRIO/HRIT
Under the guidance and supervision of the SCHRIO and UMB Strategic Information Officer and answerable to the facility manager, the data officer/HRIO will manage day to day data management functions of the Integrated Key Population Site by ensuring accurate and complete documentation of registers, Data Quality Audit, regular KP reporting, EMR updating and collection of monthly and quarterly data reports at Dice level.
Support Integrated Key Population site to manage, maintain and organize Client’s medical records
Ensure a well stream lined appointment management system
Mentor other Integrated Key Population site Healthcare care workers on documentation, filling of the Client’s patient cards and registers, reporting and basic data analysis.
Ensure all client records is up to date in the KPS-EMR System and client file.
Prepare KP reports and process through MOH KHIS2, DRAWS UMB reporting platform and 3PM.
Assist in weekly, monthly and quarterly data collection as per specified KP reporting indicator requirements.
Conduct data quality audit using specific data audit tools like Paper based DQA, EMR DQAs, and data variation analysis tracking logs.
Support MOH reporting system (KHIS) through quality audit of KP reports in respective Dices by comparing report entered with physical report and flag the anomalies.
Effectively communicate to KP program supporting team on matters relating to M&E needs and reporting tools requirement
Report (through writing) all M&E activities carried out in the Integrated KP site and generate list of action items that require program interventions and support.
Ensuring M&E standards operation procedures (SOPs) are accessible and well maintained.
Ensuring monthly updates of progress wall charts and document progress on various quality improvement run charts.
Participate in quality improvement, quality assurance and management functions at the facility, Sub County and county levels.
Any other duties which may be assigned by the Supervisor from time to time
College Diploma or certificate in Health Records and Information, Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Public Health Informatics, Statistics or Mathematics
Training in Monitoring and evaluation will be an added advantage.
1 – 3 years’ experience in health records and information management and implementing ART programs
Certificate: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
